She passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Abundant Life Assisted Living. Her nickname was “Honey.” She graduated from Stephen F. She had a successful and gratifying career as an educator for over 15 years. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Hoke enjoyed her sweet spirit and grateful attitude. Hoke was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who loved life and people. John was born on March 20, 1982 in Conroe, Texas to Calvin and Linda Ballou.

Her most memorable teaching job was at Washington Junior High School here in Conroe, Texas. He passed away on May 12, 2018 in Spring, Texas at the age of 36.

She and her family are longtime members of First United Methodist Church in Conroe where she served as the teacher for 7 years for the Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study. John was a hard-working, dependable man who loved his family.

He was a member of the Men Achieving Leadership and Excellence at Prairie View A&M University.
